Course Description
This course offers a step-by-step guide to understanding and implementing Construction BIM Requirements in real-world projects. Designed specifically for contractors, site engineers, and construction project managers, it focuses on the contractor’s BIM responsibilities in alignment with client requirements such as EIR (Employer's Information Requirements), AIR (Asset Information Requirements), and PIR (Project Information Requirements). The course bridges the gap between design intent and construction execution using BIM. Learn to read and apply BIM Execution Plans (BEP), coordinate federated models, validate construction models, and manage information delivery aligned with ISO 19650. Through practical use cases, templates, and workflows, learners will gain confidence in executing BIM in tender, pre-construction, and construction phases.
Course Requirement
- Basic understanding of construction processes
- Awareness of 3D model usage in construction (recommended but not mandatory)
- No prior BIM software knowledge required
- Ideal for contractors, site engineers, QS, and construction PMs
What you'll learn
- Understand construction-specific BIM requirements
- Interpret and respond to EIR, AIR, and PIR
- Participate in BIM coordination and BEP planning
- Execute BIM-enabled planning, scheduling, and site logistics
- Manage information delivery and digital handover using COBie
- Apply ISO 19650 principles practically on-site
What You'll Achieve
By the end of this course, learners will be able to confidently lead and manage BIM requirements during the construction phase. They will understand how to participate in BIM coordination, align their deliverables with ISO 19650-compliant client requirements, and integrate digital workflows that increase project efficiency, reduce errors, and deliver value across the construction lifecycle.
